It’s good work if you can get it.

Life is pretty “grand” for former Warwick superintendent Stephen Iovino who’s been named interim superintendent of the School District of Lancaster.

Iovino, who because of his retirement pension restrictions will work a maximum of three days per week and make $600 per day.

That temporary part-time job will last until SDL board finds a replacement for Superintendent Pedro Rivera, who left to serve as Gov. Tom Wolf’s Secretary of Education.

Iovino had served in a similar position as SDL interim superintendent in 2007-08. Under that agreement, SDL paid Iovino based on an annual salary of $155,000. Because of his retirement Iovino was limited to work only 11 months and received a check for $5,961.53 every two weeks and health benefits from the district.
