Deaths of Local Interest – June 5, 2014

Paul F. Boyd, 90, of Lancaster, went home to be with the Lord on May 29 at Lancaster General Hospital. He served in the United States Army during WWII and later was employed by Black and Decker retiring after 40 years of service. He was part of the Park City Twalkers since its inception in 1985. His brother, William Boyd, lives in Lititz.

Grace L. Buckwalter, formerly of Neffsville, died peacefully May 27 at Pleasant View Retirement Community. She was employed in the billing department for New Holland Machine Company, New Holland; she later worked for Sears Department Store, Lancaster, and Lippart’s Big Men’s Clothing Store, Lititz.

Donna Todd Nevling died May 21. Born in Lancaster, she moved to Irvona 20 years ago. She loved her little Paradise in the mountains. She lived for her cats and dogs, which she rescued. A sister, Rhoda Groff, lives in Lititz.

Anna Mary Shelly, 88, of Manheim, went home to be with the Lord May 31 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. A homemaker, earlier in her life Anna Mary worked for the former Travis Mills in Lititz. She was a member of Ruhl’s United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She had a life-long passion for her family and enjoyed participating in many family activities.

Harold E. “Shimpy” Shimp, 76, of Conestoga, passed away May 27. Shimpy played bass guitar and sang lead vocal for his band, The Crickets and played many venues all over Central PA. was an avid bowler, bowling for the Kline’s Team at Leisure Lanes and also enjoyed playing golf. His daughter, Kimberly M. Stively, wife of Robert, resides in Lititz.
