John D. Finley was hired as Sunshine’s chief financial officer. Finley previously served as Susquehanna’s director of treasury strategies.

Before joining Susquehanna in 2013 he was president of the consulting firm Margin Advisors and chief financial officer of Graystone Tower Bank, according to his LinkedIn profile.

The company announced Oct. 2 that Finley would succeed Vickie Houllis, who resigned to pursue other career opportunities. Finley will oversee the company’s strategic financial planning, financial forecasting and investment and interest rate risk management, among other responsibilities.

Sunshine’s chief executive, Andrew Samuel, also left Susquehanna to join the Florida bank. Susquehanna, meanwhile, was bought by BB&T in Winston-Salem, N.C., earlier this year.

Sunshine Bancorp was formed in 2014 when Sunshine Bank converted from a mutual to a stock-owned company.
