Summer means Fourth of July and fireworks. Summer means fresh berries and vegetables. Summer means picnics and barbecues. And nothing makes summer sweeter than Zig’s Bakery & Cafe at Brick Gables, where goodness is made from scratch.

This is what you have been waiting for. With summer, you get to enjoy bright summer sunshine and warm weather that makes you want to reach for a big glass of iced latte or cold brewed iced tea. Try the fresh berry or mango smoothies, homemade Italian sodas, and chilled lemonade.

The sun is up early in summer and that means it’s time to Rise and Shine at Zig’s, where you can start your day with breakfast sandwiches on Zig’s fresh baked bread, baked oatmeal with berries, homemade quiche or yogurt parfaits with granola and fresh fruit.

Fresh fruit is the star of many other Zig’s goodies, like the fresh fruit tart, fresh strawberry pie, tart cherry pie, blueberry scones, blueberry pie, raspberry cupcakes and more. Nothing says summer like fresh strawberry shortcake with Zig’s new recipe for buttery shortcake, sweet local strawberries and whipped cream or ice cream.

With Fourth of July coming up, get ready for picnics and backyard cookouts. You can get everything you need from Zig’s to make your holiday celebration extra-easy. You can pre-order all your favorites and pick them up the day before. A few made-from-scratch favorites include pork barbecue, potato salad, pasta salad, cole slaw, black bean corn poblano, broccoli salad and fresh baked rolls.

At Zig’s Bakery & Café, you always feel welcomed with friendly service at the bakery, deli and café. It’s the place for fresh baked breads, cakes and pies, brewed coffee, refreshing smoothies and sodas, soups, sandwiches, salads and deli items. The freshly made sandwiches include the turkey pesto focaccia and pastrami on rye. Breads include honey wheat, country white, flax, dark rye focaccia, baguettes, croissants, cinnamon raisin bread and sourdough boule. Summer’s seasonal salad is the strawberry spinach salad that tastes as good as it looks.

You’ll love everything about Zig’s and Brick Gables, which was lovingly restored by the Ziegler family to keep the rare exterior cutout brickwork and stone interior touches. On  sunny days, you can eat out on the patio.
