As the defending Lancaster-Lebanon League boys singles champ, Ben White gave himself an opportunity to repeat last Friday.

That is, the Warwick junior claimed the sixth and final spot for the stepladder finals.

In the end, however, White suffered a 255-202 to Penn Manor’s Austin Curtiss in Round One of the finals and was eliminated at Leisure Lanes in Lancaster.

Conestoga Valley’s No. 2-seeded Ryan Graham eventually captured the championship, defeating Penn Manor’s top-seeded Jordan Wakefield 213-174 in the final round.

At the end of first-round action, White was on the outside looking in, sitting eighth with a score of 1143, not far behind CV’s Dominik Bowman (1177) in sixth place and Curtiss (1171) in seventh. Manheim Central’s Bryson Morton was also within striking distance, in a tie for ninth place (1093) with Penn Manor’s Zach Bowers.

In second-round action, White climbed the ladder and got himself into the sixth position with a score of 2061, which was 30 pins ahead of McCaskey’s Dylan Smith (2031).

Wakefield headed to the finals as the number one seed with a score of 2258, just ahead of Graham’s total of 2200.

Warwick’s Austin Barilar was 11th with 1966, followed by Manheim Central’s Michael Tanner in 17th place (1899) and Warwick’s Isaac Erickson close behind in 18th with 1890.

Morton finished 23rd with a score of 1852, while Manheim Central’s Zachary Kowalski was 30th with 1784,

In the L-L Girls Singles Championships last Thursday at Clearview Lanes, Ashley Sham paced Warwick with a 15th-place finish with a score of 1628 in nine games.

The bowlers will now turn their attention toward the District Three Championships, which will be held this Saturday, Feb. 27 at ABC North Lanes in Harrisburg.
