Ken and Verdella Stauffer will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Dec. 24. The couple was married on Christmas Eve in 1957 at Salem Church in Manheim.

The Stauffers were high school sweethearts. As soon as Ken received his diploma from Manheim Central High School, he immediately married Verdella.

They’ve lived in the Manheim area all their life. Ken was employed by Raymark in Manheim, and Verdella worked for the Fuller Company, also in Manheim, and later was employed by the Manheim Auto Auction, where Ken is still working part-time.

They have one son, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Ken and Verdella are members of Jerusalem Church, and they enjoy camping with the Fireflies, formerly known as Rambling Roses.

Ken is an active member of the Masonic Lodge #587 of Manheim, and Verdella has been a member of Lititz Springs Chapter #499 Order of the Eastern Star for 50 years.
