Bombergers married 70 years

Jay Lloyd and Elva (Faus Bollinger) Bomberger celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Oct. 4, 2017.

They are parents to three children: Tim (wife Linda); David (wife Cathy); and a daughter, the late Beth Bomberger. They have seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

The couple met at the Ephrata Fair and later married on Oct 4, 1947. The wedding took place at the Lititz Church of the Brethren’s original location on Center Street, Lititz. They are still members of the Lititz Church of the Brethren and currently reside at Brethren Village Retirement Home.

Jay Lloyd and Elva live in Lititz, where they raised their children, and continued to be actively involved with the lives of their grandchildren. Jay Lloyd was a farmer and had a trucking business transporting milk for New Holland Farms. Elva worked at Raybestos in Manheim, Warwick High School cafeteria, and was a homemaker.

Jay Lloyd and Elva both loved to golf and play cards. The couple also enjoyed traveling and went to Florida every winter to visit friends for over 20 years.

Faith and family have always come first to Jay Lloyd and Elva and their marriage is a true testament of this. Their family would like to thank them for the example they have set by their love, friendship and loyalty over the last 70 years.
