Winifred E. Reinhart, 103, beauty shop owner, USPS worker, determined, enjoyed gardening

Winifred E. Reinhart, 103, passed away peacefully at her home in Lititz on May 3, 2019.

She was the devoted wife of the late Clair N. Reinhart, who passed away in 2004 and to whom she was married for 54 years. Born in Eden Township, she was the daughter of the late Alvin J. Roberts and Anna (Frackman) Roberts Howe.

She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, and a member of St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lancaster for 64 years.

Winnie operated her own beauty salon in Neffsville from 1949 until the early ‘70s, followed by working for the U.S. Postal Service until her retirement in 1980. She enjoyed gardening, and will be fondly remembered for her spirit and determination. Her real passion was caring for her family.

She is survived by a daughter: Nancy, wife of Frank Grube Jr., Lititz; six grandchildren: Rickey Garvin (Jolene) of Elizabethtown, Debra Martin of East Petersburg, Donna Dreyer of Waynesboro, Dawn Garvin of Marysville, Andrea Steffy Bear (David) of Lititz and Gregory Steffy Jr. of Lititz, 13 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandchild

She was preceded in death by a son: Donald A. Garvin in 2006; and three sisters; and three brothers.

Friends will be received on Friday, May 10, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 10 Delp Road, Lancaster, with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
