William E. Shenberger, 94, WWII vet, Trinity E.C.C. member, retired from The Yegen Co., Shriner

William E. “Bill” Shenberger, 94, of Manheim passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Pleasant View Retirement Community.

Born in York, he was the son of the late Harry and Mary Rittenhouse Shenberger. He was the loving husband of Nancy A. Miller Shenberger, and they celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary in September.

Bill retired as a salesman for The Yegen Company in New Jersey. He proudly served as a Merchant Marine during World War II, and was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Manheim. Bill was also a member of White Rose Lodge #706 F&AM, York, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Zembo Shrine, Harrisburg Consistory and he dedicated 50 years of service for Noble of the Mystic Shrine. His interests included, golfing, dancing and traveling.

Surviving in addition to his wife, is a daughter: Antonia, wife of Paul Slonaker of York; two grandchildren: Sarah and Joseph; one great-granddaughter: Riley; and a brother: Vernon, husband of Betty Shenberger of York.

He was preceded in death by a brother, George Shenberger; and a sister: Alverta Sipes.

Services were Dec. 27 at Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Manheim. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
