Vivian I. Hoffmeier, 98, worked at WHP radio, missionary, Calvary Church member

Vivian I. Hoffmeier, 98, of Landis Homes, went home to be with Jesus on Aug. 17, 2016.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Uhler and Irene Dunlap. She was the wife of Charles S. Hoffmeier, who died in 1991.

Vivian graduated from Middletown High School in 1935, and graduated from Central Pennsylvania Business College. She worked at WHP radio station, and then studied at LBC. In 1950 she and Charles, with their daughter, Sharon, pursued their passion for the people of Egypt, traveling there and spending 17 years in ministry followed by 13 years of service in Montreal. Vivian was a member of Calvary Church and the Overcomers ABF and regularly led Bible studies until she was 89.

She is survived by her children: Sharon, wife of Herbert Garber, Elizabethtown; James Hoffmeier, husband of Cathy, Wheaton, Ill.; and Mary Lou, wife of Michael Joline, Lititz; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 20 at the Landis Homes Retirement Community West Bethany Chapel, Lititz. Interment followed in the Middletown Cemetery.
