Susan M. Martin, 67, of Lititz, passed away from complications of a rare lung disease, on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at her home.

She was born in East Earl Township to the late Clarence M. and Lydia H. (Martin) Weaver, and was the wife of Ira M. Martin, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage.

She was a life-long member of the Hinkletown Mennonite Church, where she was active in Grief Share Ministry, We Care Prison Ministry-Alabama and CB Cast group.

Susan was a school bus driver for more than 30 years, driving for both Lititz Area Mennonite School and most recently for Groff Transportation. She loved her family and was excited with the addition of each grandchild. She frequently hosted family meals, and was very talented and creative, which came out in her choice of hobbies. She enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitching, piecing of quilts and flower gardening. She was an avid writer, and wrote many poems. She was part of a writing group who wrote Christian plays. Her love for the Lord was evident in everything she did.

In addition to her husband, Susan is survived by three children: Melanie A. Martin of Akron; Marvin R., husband of Kendra (Weaver) Martin, of Stevens; Melinda S., wife of Steven Hoover, of Ephrata; six grandchildren: Kara, Clay and Grant Martin; Michael, Lincoln and Natalie Hoover; three brothers: Lester M., husband of Lois (Martin) Weaver, of Lancaster; Clarence Weaver Jr. of Syracuse, N.Y.; Charles, husband of Karen (Horning) Weaver, of Lititz; and four sisters: Sarah, wife of Roger Kilhefner, of Lititz; Lucy, wife of John Zimmerman, of Ephrata; Mary Ann, wife of Dale Martin, of Lebanon; Julia, wife of Joe Witmer, of Elm.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Michael I. Martin; and a brother: Marvin Weaver.

Services were held May 31 at Hinkletown Mennonite Church, Ephrata, with Pastor Glenn Sauder officiating. Interment took place in the adjoining church cemetery.
