Ruth S. Bucher, 90, homemaker, farmer’s wife, taught Sunday School at Middle Creek COB

Ruth S. Bucher, 90, of Lititz, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at United Zion Retirement Community.

She was born in Ephrata to the late Bard E. and Esther B. (Stauffer) Kreider, and was the wife of the late Paul C. Bucher.

Ruth was a member of the Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, where she taught Sunday School in the children’s department, and also served as a deaconess. She was a homemaker and helped her husband on their farm on Meadow Valley Road, Lititz.

She is survived by a foster son: Mark E., husband of Diane Shepherd, of Manheim; a foster grandson: Dustin M. Shepherd; two sisters: Verna Mae, wife of the late Jacob K. Hershey, of Lititz; and Mildred S., wife of the late Richard Zeimer, of New Holland; and nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 5, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, 351 Middle Creek Church Road, Lititz; followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., with Pastors Paul Brubaker, Wilbur Rohrer, and Ivan Lutz officiating. Interment will be private in the Middle Creek Brethren Cemetery.
