Ronald Lee Vogel, 74, Army vet, Yellow Freight driver, enjoyed spending time with family

Ronald Lee Vogel, 74, of Manheim, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Jan. 13, 2018 at Lebanon VA Medical Center after a brief illness.

Ron was the husband of Marian (Hershey) Vogel and they celebrated 52 years of marriage in June 2017. Born in Palmerton, he was the son of the late Wesley A. and Lucreta (Reber) Vogel.

Ron was a driver for the Schwerman Trucking, Nazareth; and then a driver and yard jockey for Yellow Freight Company of East Petersburg for 33 years before retiring. He proudly served in the U.S. Army.

Ron was blessed by providing BRF Library Tape and Bible Helps Ministries. In his free time, Ron enjoyed cutting and splitting wood, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife. Marian. are two sons: Daniel, husband of Jennifer (Horst) Vogel, Lebanon; David, husband of Diane (Burkholder) Vogel, Bernville; a daughter: Kenda, wife of John Beck, Robesonia; and 14 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant grandchildren; and a sister: Shirleen Kuntz.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service at Calvary Chapel, 740 Willow St., Lebanon, on Friday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m. There will be time of viewing and visitation with the family on Friday at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Interment with military honors will be in Graybill’s Brethren Cemetery.
