Robert E. Rhoads, 76, Trinity EC member, enjoyed bike riding, country music, and car shows

Robert E. Rhoads, 76, of Harrisburg, formerly of Akron, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Ephraim H. and Miriam M. Miller Rhoads.
He attended Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church. Robert enjoyed going to the Old Country Buffet whenever he was invited for dinner, family gatherings, and helping around the farm when he was younger. He also enjoyed bike riding, especially at Ocean City, Md., where he could ride on the boardwalk. Listening to country music, playing pokeno, drawing, being around dogs and cats, helping others whenever he could, and going to car shows were some of his favorite things. Robert had a great memory and loved to laugh. He always got a good laugh when he heard “Who Let the Dogs Out.” Most of all, he enjoyed his family.
He is survived by his brother: Charles W. Rhoads, Franklintown; a sister: Doris E., wife of Donald L. Nolt, Leola; nieces: Crystal Nolt, Angela Vozzella, Amy Rhoads, Kylie Rhoads; and nephews: Corey Ludwig, Brian Rhoads, Joshua C. Rhoads; six great nieces; and three great nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date by his family.
Memorial contributions in Robert’s memory can be sent to Mental Health – Mental Retardation, 100 Chestnut St., No. 1, Harrisburg, PA 17101.
