Richard B. Whittington, 82, Vietnam USAF vet, Whittington Associates founder, loved his family

Richard B. Whittington, 82, of Stuart, Fla., passed away Nov. 23, 2016, at Magnolias of Lancaster.

Born in Worcester, Mass., Richard was the son of the late Thomas and Madeline (Coleman) Whittington. Richard was the loving husband of 61 years to Beverly (Brenner) Whittington, Lititz.

Richard served our country as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for military action in the Vietnam War. Richard started his own very successful manufacturer’s representative business in 1969, Whittington Associates.

Family was paramount in Richard’s life. He led by example with kindness and generosity.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Beverly, are two children: Beth Frame, wife of Christopher, Lititz; and Richard B. Whittington Jr., husband of Virginia Ursin; four grandchildren: Emily Moyer, wife of James; Laura Frame, Eric and Kristina Whittington; two great-grandchildren: Salvy and Sophia Moyer; a brother: Thomas E. Whittington Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by a sister: Constance Dimling.

Services will be held Dec. 3 at Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz. Friends will be received from 2:30 to 3 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. with military honors.
