R. Ronald Roth, 75, retired from Raymark, served in Coast Guard, enjoyed woodworking

R. Ronald Roth, 75, of 912 May Road, Lititz, passed away peacefully at Masonic Village on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014.

Born in Lancaster, he was the husband of Dawn Hurd Roth and they celebrated their second wedding anniversary on April 5. He was the son of the late Richard T. and Pauline Ludwig Roth.

Ron received his high school diploma and through home study courses, received his bachelor’s degree in business. He worked for Raymark Industries for 35 years as the customer service manager.

He proudly served with the United States Coast Guard and was a Free and Accepted Mason with the Masonic Lodge # 43; Tall Cedars Forest #27; Reading Consistory, Lodge of Perfection; Lodge of Perfection, Lancaster.

He enjoyed woodworking, reading, and passionately watching television on his recliner. One of his favorite things to do with his grandson, Dominic, was to play games, basketball, and watch the Philadelphia Eagles. He treasured the unique bond he had with him as he resided with him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son: Chad M. Roth, Lititz; three stepchildren: Justin W. Shanley, Lititz; James M. Shanley Jr., Statton, Maine; and Kayla N. Shanley, Mt. Joy; a sister: Lynne Roth Magee, Lititz; four grandchildren: Christian Shanley, Connor Ness, McKenzy Shanley, and Dominic Shanley.

He was preceded in death by his son: Richard Ronald Roth II in 1982; and his first wife: Linda.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ron’s Life Celebration Service from the Spacht Funeral Home, 127 S. Broad St., Lititz, on Thursday, Oct. 30, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. James Heckman officiating. Interment at Machpelah Cemetery. Friends may call at Spacht Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
