Paul Saylor Groff, 81, Lititz COB custodian, enjoyed gardening and fixing cars

Paul Saylor Groff, 81, of Manheim, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 7, 2017.

Born in Manheim, he was the son of the late Elmer and Alverta Saylor Groff. He was the loving husband of Pauline E. (Shertzer) Groff.

Paul worked as a custodian for the Lititz Church of the Brethren for 23 years before retiring at the age of 65. He also worked at Bond Foundry and Fuller Foundry prior to retirement. Paul was a member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church, Manheim. He enjoyed gardening and repairing cars.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Pauline, are four children: Perry S., husband of Twila Groff, of Rothsville; Philip S., husband of Serena Groff, of Denver; Priscilla S. Groff of Manheim; Patricia S. Groff of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; a brother: Rufus S. Groff of Manheim; two sisters: Verna, wife of Carl Wolf; and Naomi Hummer, both of Manheim.

He was preceded in death by a brother: David Groff.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Paul’s funeral service at Hernley Mennonite Church, 746 Lebanon Road, Manheim, on Thursday, April 13, at 2 p.m. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
