Natalie Ann Destafano, 92, Girl Scout leader, St. Mary’s parishioner, LCHS band support

Natalie Ann Destafano passed into the arms of the Lord Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, at Luther Acres, Lititz, at the age of 92.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Ralph J. Destafano, in 1973; two brothers: Paul T. Dixon and Hugh G. Dixon; and grandson: Vaughn K. Sauder.
Natalie was born in Indianapolis, Ind., to Earnest Paul Dixon and Geneva Seiler Dixon. She grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., graduating from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1941. She met her husband when he was stationed in Fort Lauderdale during World War II, coming to Lancaster County in 1944.
She was a homemaker and a Girl Scout leader who enjoyed gardening; sewing; crocheting; being an LCHS band supporter; baking; and her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Natalie was an active member of Happy Hearts of Lancaster and St. Mary’s Catholic Church for more than 60 years.
Natalie is survived by her brother: Mark Dixon, Lubbock, Texas; her children: Kathryn Archer (Robert), Centerville, Mass.; Dorothy Sauder (William), Gainesville, Va.; Alice Pinto (Manuel), Lititz; David Destafano (Cindy), Conestoga: her grandchildren: Christopher Sauder; Jennifer, Matthew, and Kate Destafano; and great-grandchildren: Miranda, MacKenzie, and Mason Sauder.
Services were held Oct. 17 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lancaster, with Rev. Leo Goodman as celebrant. Interment followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, make contributions in Natalie’s memory to the Lancaster Catholic High School (Endowment Fund), 630 Juliette Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601.
