Nancy J. Brenner, 83, mother of three, secretary at Wilbur Chocolate, loved ice skating

Nancy J. Brenner, 83, lifelong Lititz resident, passed away at Landis Homes Retirement Community, on Friday, Oct. 2, 2015.
She was born in Lititz to the late Brian David and Elizabeth (Hess) Grube. Nancy’s husband, James David Brenner, died in 2011, three weeks short of their 60th wedding anniversary.
A graduate of Rothsville High School, she was a loving homemaker to her family. Nancy worked as a secretary at Wilbur Chocolate before her children were born. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and fishing, crabbing and clamming on the Chesapeake. Nancy was an expert water skier and loved to ice skate. She had served as a Warwick Township Republican committeewoman and was a member of Lititz Church of the Brethren.
Nancy is survived by her three children: James D. Brenner, husband of Charles Jones, of Tallahassee, Fla.; Kathryn L. Brenner of Lititz; and John S. Brenner, husband of Marie (Sensenig), of Lititz; six grandchildren: T.J., Ryan, Dru, Alyssa, Candice, and John; three great-grandchildren: Trinity, Avery, and Porter James; three siblings: David Grube, husband of Agnes, of Loosdrecht, Netherlands; Barbara, wife of Robert Stripe, of Lititz; and Gerald Grube, husband of Karen, of Michigan; sister-in-law: Sarah Grube of Manheim; and brother-in-law: James Gehman of Lititz.
Her sister, Jean Gehman; and brother, Robert Grube, preceded Nancy in death. The last survivor of Domer and Harriet Brenner’s immediate family, Nancy was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law: John H. Brenner; sisters-in-law: Jean C. Brenner and Nancy Ludwig; and husband Eugene.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Spacht-Snyder Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 127 S. Broad St., Lititz, with Pastor Eric Landram officiating. Nancy’s family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Private Interment will take place in Longenecker Brethren Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Pennsylvania, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
