Nancy Croll Sell, 70, of Lititz, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Federalsburg, Md., to the late Paul Addison Croll and Alice Reagan Croll, she was happily married to Greg Sell for 35 years.

Nancy earned a BFA and an MFA from East Carolina University as well as a degree in computer programming from Pitt Community College. She was active in the community and contributed her talents to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Day Care Center Board of Directors and various youth organizations in support of her children. While volunteering, Nancy owned and operated the desktop publishing business, Benchmark Graphics.

She worked for 25 years as a computer analyst, trainer and director of IT services. After retirement, she returned to her artistic roots and created unique mosaics which she exhibited at several regional galleries. Nancy was a voracious reader and enjoyed travel. Her dry and stinging wit claimed many a victim.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Greg, are three daughters: Lisa Strause, wife of Roger, of Lancaster; Christin Sell of Glenwood, N.M.; and Sarah Sell of Lancaster; two granddaughters: Elizabeth and Emma Strause; a sister: Phyllis Giles of South Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews; and a cousin: Sylvia Sullivan of Illinois.

She was preceded in death by a brother: William Croll.

A memorial gathering honoring Nancy’s life will be held in August.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s memory to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125 or Water Street Ministries, 210 S. Prince St., P.O. Box 7267, Lancaster, PA 17604-7267.
