Milton ‘Coop’ Cooper, Lititz UMC member, WWII vet, went to Antarctica with Admiral Byrd

Milton Cooper died April 10, 2014 at Luther Acres, Lititz.

A Connecticut native, he moved here in 2008 with his wife Helen. A WWII Navy veteran and deep sea diver, “Coop” was proud to have participated in Operation Highjump, an expedition to Antarctica led by Adm. Richard Byrd. He was a member of the Lititz United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife of 64 years; he is survived by a son: Thomas; a daughter: Leslie, wife of Thomas Porto; a grandson: Nicholas Cooper; a brother-in-law: Harold Norman, and his wife Elena; plus many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Private interment at the convenience of his family. Memorial contributions may be made in Milton’s memory to Hospice and Community Care 685 Good Drive P.O.
