Mildred E. Brown, 87, worked for Airwork Corp., enjoyed dining out, word games

Mildred Elizabeth Brown, 87, of N. Oak St., Lititz, formerly of Millville, N.J., passed away July 5, 2015 at Heart of Lancaster.

Born in Millville, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Lewis S. and Margaret Wettstein Dayton.

Mildred graduated from high school in 1944 and worked for the former Airwork Corp. in international aviation sales. She enjoyed going out to eat; loved sharing history; playing search a word games; celebrating holidays; was very particular about cooking and what she was buying; loved math; travel when she was younger, including a road trip to California; having a banana split with her family on the last day of school; but, most of all, being with her family.

She is survived by her daughter: Sharron L., wife of Henry “Hank” J. Farish, Lititz; grandchildren: Staci Ferguson DuBosq, wife of Jeffrey F. DuBosq, Lititz; Karen Goke, wife of Karl Goke, Burke, Va.; great-grandchildren: Benjamin J. DuBosq, Meighan E. DuBosq, and Carolyne E. DuBosq, all of Lititz; daughter by choice: Karen Ketterer, New Cumberland; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was the last of her immediate family which included her brothers: Edward, Robert, David Dayton; and sisters: Hester Semus and Frances Croce. She was also preceded in death by a son: Walter Edward Silvers; and her husband: Edward A. Brown, who passed away Feb. 11, 2001.

Services were held July 10 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville, N.J., with the Rev. Keith Buckbee officiating.
