Mary R. Ziegler, 78, first grade teacher at H.C. Burgard Elementary, enjoyed singing

Mary R. Ziegler, 78, of Lititz, passed away peacefully at Lancaster General Hospital on Monday, June 1, 2015.
She was the wife of the late Larry L. Ziegler, who passed away in 2013, and the daughter of the late Leon and Violet Shaak Risser.
Mary graduated from the former Lititz High School and was a 1958 graduate of Lebanon Valley College with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She taught first grade at H.C. Mary was also a Girl Scout Leader and loved her schnauzer, Cassie, as well as her past schnauzers. Her passion and joy came from her grandchildren, Emily and Alison.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter: Amy E., wife of Bradley Arndt, Manheim; her two grand-daughters: Emily and Alison Arndt. A sister, Polly, wife of Thomas C. Reinhart, Wyomissing, also survives.
Graveside services were held June 5 at Machpelah Cemetery, Lititz, with Rev. Jeffrey L. Dunkle officiating.
