Mary M. Brown, 99, Manheim Belting Co. inspector, 90-year member of Salem UMC

Mary M. Brown, 99, of Manheim, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 7, 2016.

Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late Norman S. and Katie George Brown.

Mary retired as an inspector after 28 years for the former Manheim Belting Co. She also worked at the former Beford Shoe Factory, Lititz; and the former Noggles Garment Factory, Manheim. Mary was a 90-year member of Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim. She was also a member of the Manheim Historical Society. Her interests included crocheting, embroidering and she loved to spend time with her family.

Surviving is a son: Barry L. Brown of Manheim; four grandsons: Galeon, Brian, Kevin, and Stuart Brown; 11 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edna M. Sides of Manheim.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Joanna Brown; and a brother: Stanley Brown.

Services were held June 13 at Buch Funeral Home, Manheim. Interment followed in Longenecker’s Brethren Cemetery, Lititz.
