Mary Louise Rineer, 96, MCHS grad, Lift-All secretary, Nearly-Nu volunteer, enjoyed needlework

Mary Louise “Weasie” Rineer, 96, formerly of Manheim, passed away on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019 at Luther Acres, Lititz.

Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Oscar K. and Clara Hahn Buch. She was the wife of the late Charles Rineer, who died in 1975.

Retired in 1989, Louise worked as a secretary for Lift-All Co., Inc., Manheim and in her earlier years she worked at the Manheim Central High School cafeteria. Louise graduated from the former Manheim High School in 1940, and she was a faithful member of Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim. She was also a member of the Manheim VFW Post 5956 Ladies Auxiliary, United Auxiliary of Lancaster General Hospital and she volunteered at the Nearly-Nu Shop, Manheim. Her interests included cooking, reading, walking and needlework.

Surviving are two children: Charlynn L., wife of Lee Barshinger; and Charles B., husband of Pamela Haldeman Rineer, both of Manheim; two grandsons: Jason, husband of Nissa Rineer; and Justin, husband of Pamela Rineer; two step-grandsons: Steve and Keith Barshinger; four great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her stepmother: Edith Buch; a brother: Draper H. Buch; and a sister: Mildred H. Sponsler.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her graveside service at Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Sun Hill Road, Manheim on Thursday, Jan. 10 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Mary’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603, or to a charity of one’s choice.
