Mary Emma Bollinger

Mary Emma Bollinger, 95, of Lancaster, formerly of Lincoln, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Brethren Village where she resided since 2002.

She was born in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Vernon and Dora (Shenk) Miller. Mary was the wife of the late John H. Bollinger, to whom she was married for 69 years.

She was an active member of the Middle Creek Church of the Brethren serving on the kitchen committee for 12 years, helping in the nursery for 25 years, and on the quilting committee. Mary enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidering, quilting, canning, baking and candy making as hobbies. She enjoyed selling her crafts at various shows.

Mary was formerly employed at various sewing factories in the area, Rothsville Shirt Co., Terry Mfg. and Dutchmaid; and later worked at Martin’s Country Market until the age of 80.

Mary is survived by two daughters: Elaine of Manheim, wife of the late Clyde Shonk, and Peggy, wife of Ray Kline of Lititz; a grandson: Scott, husband of Angel Shonk; a granddaughter: Lorie, wife of Brian Kerstetter; and two great-grandsons: Corey and Evan Kerstetter, all of Lititz.

She was preceded in death by her siblings: Vernon Miller Jr., Olive May Ludwig, Mildred Irvin, Elizabeth Bollinger Greenly, Richard F. Miller; and a grandson: Steve Shonk.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 14, at 11 a.m., at the Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, 351 Middle Creek Church Road, Lititz, with Pastors Paul Brubaker and Ivan Lutz officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends may view prior to the service starting at 10 a.m.

Memorial contributions in Mary Emma’s memory may be made to Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, Building Fund, 351 Middle Creek Church Road, Lititz, PA 17543.
