Marlin E. Gingrich, 83, Korea vet, worked at Raymark, former Manheim VFW commander

Marlin E. “Wimp” Gingrich, 83, of Lititz passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy.

Born and raised in Manheim, he was the son of the late George H. and Erla (Hollinger) Gingrich. He was the loving companion of Barbara Heisey of Lititz for more than 30 years.

He worked at the former Raymark factory in Manheim for several years.

Marlin was a sports enthusiast and especially was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

Marlin proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a former commander at the Manheim VFW for several years, and was also a life member of the Lititz American Legion and VFW.

The family would like to thank the Hospice and Community Care staff for the exceptional care that they provided to Marlin and his family.

He is survived by his son: Barry L. Gingrich, husband of Kim, of Lititz; a daughter: Lisa M. Young, wife of Paul of Mount Joy; and four grandchildren: Tara, Kayela, Courtney, and Skylar. Also surviving is a brother: Larry Gingrich, husband of Louise, of Lititz; a sister: Edris Kauffman, wife of Wilbur, of Mount Joy; and Barb’s children: Kirk, Scott, Michael, Shawn, and their families.

He was preceded in death by three daughters: Cynthia Lynne, Brenda Jean, and Cathy Jo.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:45 a.m., on Friday, Feb. 24, at Spacht-Snyder Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 127 S. Broad St., Lititz. Interment will follow in Manheim Fairview Cemetery. Family and friends will be received from 9:45 a.m. until the time of the service.
