Marie T. Hall Martin, 92, Sears department manager, candy maker, Manheim fair ribbon winner

Marie T. Hall Martin, 92, of Ephrata, made her journey home to her heavenly family on Thursday, April 26, 2018.

She was born in Johnstown to the late John and Nancy (Petticart) Rocki ,and was the wife of the late Fred Martin of Lititz.

She was a former member of Ross Street Methodist Church, Lancaster.

Before retiring from Sears in Altoona, Marie was the restaurant and candy department manager. She enjoyed crocheting, for which she won several blue ribbons at the Ephrata and Manheim Fairs. She loved music, especially the violin and played the washboard in the kazoo band at the Lititz Senior Citizens Center, where she was a member for many years. She also loved making candy at the center as a fundraiser.

Marie is survived by a daughter: Mickey, wife of William C. Biddle of Ephrata; three grandchildren: William S. Biddle of Altoona; Kimberly LeAnn Mumper of Horsham; Robert D. Biddle of Tampa, Fla.; 15 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her first husband: Chester J. Hall; a grandson: Frank T. Bracciale Jr.; a granddaughter: Brenda Marie Biddle Bazemore; a great-grandson: Ryan B. Knapp; and three brothers: Joseph, Rudolph, and Leo Rocki.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 19, at 1 p.m. at the Stradling Funeral Home, 30 N. Ninth St., Akron. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will be private at the Alto Rest Park Cemetery, Altoona.
