Marie Louise Kitson Williams, 87, formerly of Lititz, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at her home in Winder, Ga., after battling Alzheimer’s disease for several years.

Marie was born in Buffalo, N.Y., and lived in Massachusetts, New York, and Ohio, before moving to Lancaster County. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Rev. John Ernest Williams. Marie and John lived in Lancaster County from 1973 until 2013, when they moved to Georgia.

Marie is also survived by their five children: Gregory John Williams (wife Barbara), Marietta, Ga.; Randall Owen Williams (wife Margaret), Lititz; Brian Lee Williams (wife Jody), Kampong Cham, Cambodia; daughter Gaynelle Ann Williams Bahrenburg (husband Fred), Austin, Texas; and daughter Leanne Marie Plack (husband Tom), Winder, Ga.; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Marie had a creative spirit that honored her Lord and embraced people. She was an artist in many respects: using oil paints, chalk tableaus, theorem painting, painting on porcelain, quilting, and creating fabric banners for Calvary Church.

Marie was the daughter of the late George and Minnie Kitson and had five brothers and one sister who preceded her in death. One sister, Sylvia Barwell, survives in Concord, N.H.

A memorial service will be held at Calvary Church, Landis Valley Road, Lancaster, Saturday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice (cchnet.net) or Landis Valley Home Adult Day Services (landishomes.org).
