Marian A. Meckley, 91, enjoyed knitting, nature, flying, and spending time with her family

Marian A. Meckley, 91, formerly of Akron, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at United Zion Retirement Community of Lititz.

Marian was born in Ephrata on Feb. 24, 1927, to Galen E. Rishel Sr. and Ruth (Shirk) Rishel.

Marian is survived by a son: Gary R. Meckley, husband of Robyn J. (Brenner) of Lititz; granddaughter: Margaret L. (Smith ) Lusk, wife of David C. Lusk of Lititz; and grandson: Joshua A. Smith, husband Melissa M. (McCullough) of Lititz; and five great-grandchildren: Brandon, Jarod, Ian, Sara, and Carissa.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Betty, Joanne, and Dolores; and a brother: Galen Jr.

She loved knitting, crocheting, and handwork, and she was an avid fan of flying. She enjoyed gardening, being out in nature, and spending time with her family.

Services were held May 14 at Gravenor Home for Funerals, Ephrata. Interment was at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Ephrata.
