Margaretta Davism 99, member of Lancaster Towne Club, Lady Elks bowling league

Margaretta (Hohman) Davis, 99, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015, at the Moravian Manor Nursing Home.

Born Aug. 8, 1915 in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Anna (Geisler) Hohman.

Marge was a very social woman who was a member of The Towne Club of Lancaster, Lady Elks bowling league for more than 60 years, the Unwind Club, Meals on Wheels, and a member of the former Couples Club dance group. She was a very passionate card player and active in many bridge and pinochle groups. She was a very active member of the former St. Andrews United Church of Christ since 1939.

She is survived by her daughters: Shirley Slaugh, wife of the late Larry Slaugh, of Carmel, Ind.; and Jean Davis Sullivan, wife of John Sullivan, of Lititz; along with six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Marge was preceded in death by her loving husband: Harry M. Davis; and her siblings: Richard Hohman, Marion Hohman, and Rev. Herbert Hohman.

Marge’s celebration of life funeral service will be held in the Andrew T. Scheid Funeral Home, 121 S. Prince St., Lancaster, on Thursday, July 9, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Robert Hunsicker officiating. Family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held in the Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster.
