Mabel F. Martzall, 99, Middle Creek COB member, retired Linden Hall housekeeper

Mabel F. (Eshleman) Martin Martzall, 99, of Lititz, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at Landis Homes. She is now at rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She was born in Ephrata to the late Elmer and Alice (Frey) Eshleman, and was the wife of the late Nathan M. Martzall, who passed away in 2005; and her first husband, Albert L. Martin, who passed away in 1977.

She was a member of Middle Creek Church of the Brethren. Mabel worked at various local factories over the years before retiring from Linden Hall’s housekeeping department.

Mabel is survived by three sons: Clair, husband of Carolyn (Oberholtzer) Martin of Lititz; Glenn, husband of Jean (Iverson) Martin of Lock Haven; Dale, husband of Mary Ann (Weaver) Martin of Lebanon; two daughters: Marian, wife of the late Clinton Smith of Wyomissing; Teresa, wife of Luke Zeiset of Akron; a stepson: Glenn, husband of Dorcas (Metzler) Martzall of New Holland; a stepdaughter: Joyce, wife of the late Ralph Teplitz of New Holland; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters: Laura Harmes of Lititz, Erla Hurst of Lititz, Elva Cochran of Wernersville, and Naomi Baer of Marietta.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons: Gerald T. Martin and Gary Neil Martin; three brothers: Lloyd Eshleman, John Eshleman and Sam Eshleman; a sister: Alverta Hurst; a stepdaughter: Doris Martzall; and a grandson: Daryl Martin.

Services were held Jan. 2 at Landis Homes, East Bethany Chapel, Lititz, with Pastor Paul Brubaker officiating. Interment took place in the Hess Mennonite Cemetery.

Mabel’s family would like to thank the nursing staff at Landis Homes for their care for her over the past 13 years.
