Lorraine Wilda Wiegand, 88, Warwick school food service worker, Troop 44 den mother, keyboardist

Lorraine Wilda Wiegand, 88, of Moravian Manor passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at Lancaster General Hospital.

A lifelong Lititz resident, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Grace Frey Eckert. Married for 53 years, she was the wife of the late George Monroe Wiegand, who passed away in 1999.

A 1945 graduate from Lititz High School; Lorraine was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lititz, where she was active in the Faith, Hope and Charity Sunday School class. She was an avid reader and member of Friends of the Lititz Public Library. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and spending time with her family. She was a former den mother for Troop 44 and worked for the Warwick School District in food service. Lorraine’s interests included sewing, traveling, and playing the piano and organ.

She will be lovingly missed by her two sons: James, husband of Jo Anna Wiegand; Robert, husband of Paula Wiegand; all of Ephrata; two daughters: Donna Ann, wife of Michael Hammond; Susan Lorraine, wife of Theodore Kroeck; both of Lititz; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a stepbrother: J. Richard Coates, husband of Janet, Lititz.

Lorraine’s funeral was held Feb. 15 at Steinman Hall at Moravian Manor, Lititz. Interment followed in Machpelah Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorraine’s memory to the Lititz Public Library, 651 Kissel Hill Road, Lititz, PA 17543.
