Lorraine W. Filmore, 77, generous, knitted beanies for preemies and made quilts for Linus Project

Lorraine W. Filmore, 77, of Lititz, formerly of Honey Brook and Elverson, passed away Jan. 10, 2018 at Hospice & Community Care of Mount Joy, following an illness.

She was born in Honey Brook on Sept. 10, 1940. Lorraine was the daughter of the late Earl W. and Mary (McNeil) Welsh. She was the wife of Robert G. Filmore, and they shared 59 years of marriage.

Lorraine was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting beanies for preemies and making quilts for the Linus Project. She was especially helpful to all and had a generous heart.

She is survived by three daughters: Lisa (John) Miller of Elverson; Denise (Victor) Kicera of Lititz; and Sharon (Peter) Phillips of Lebanon; and a brother: Earl W. (Delores) Welsh Jr. of Dagsboro, Del. There are six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Jan. 16 from The Labs Funeral Home, Honey Brook, with Rev. Jeffrey Goodman officiating. Interment was at the Honey Brook Methodist Cemetery.
