Lorraine M. Fry, 79, Trinity ECC member, had very strong faith, enjoyed gospel music

Lorraine M. Fry, 79, of Rothsville, entered peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016.

Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of the late David and Erla (Rudy) Dietrich and was the wife of the late Franklin Fry.

Lorraine attended Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church in Lititz. She graduated from Ephrata High School in 1954.

Lorraine loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed gospel music, especially listening to WDAC. Her other interests were traveling with her late husband, going out to eat, gardening, bird watching, cross stitch, word search puzzles, Bible reading, drawing, sewing clothing for family and friends, embroidery, weekly trips to Dairy Queen, and taking long car rides. She was a very kind, caring, and happy person. She possessed a strong faith and loved the Lord with all of her heart.

Surviving are her three children: Julia A., wife of Lawrence E. Horne, of Lititz; Jane L. DiCola of Akron; and Jeffrey S., husband of Monica (Simona) Fry, of Lititz; five grandchildren: Michelle Khoury, Jennifer Matos, Bryan Horne, Eric Horne, and Stephanie Fry; six great-grandchildren: Miranda and Madelyn Khoury, Jared and Andrew Horne, Hannah and Ella Matos; two nieces; and one nephew; a sister: Sandra, wife of the late Vernon Shenk, of Pequea.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lorraine’s caregivers, Joanne, Robin, Linda, and Debbie for their loving care during Lorraine’s illness and a word of thanks to the staff at Hospice and Community Care.

Services were held Feb. 13 at Stradling Funeral Home, Akron, with the Rev. Ryan Taylor officiating. Private interment followed the service.
