Lily Marie Bell, Infant

By on June 22, 2016

Lily Marie Bell passed peacefully at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in the arms of her loving parents on June 18, 2016.

Born on Dec. 12, 2015, Lily Marie weighed 2 pounds 10 ounces. She brought immense joy to every life she touched during her brief six months and six days on earth. For those who know Lily’s story, the concepts of fortitude and resilience will always come to mind.

Lily Marie is the daughter of Christopher W. and Brooke B. Bell of West Conshohocken. She is celebrated by maternal grandparents, Steven and Meg Brady, Villanova; and paternal grandparents, William and Cheryl Bell, Lititz. Her maternal great-grandparents are James B. and Margaret B. Flanigan and Dr. G. W. and Virginia L. Brady. Lily Marie is also celebrated by aunts: Megan Mullen (Thomas), Courtney Brady, Katherine Bell; and and uncle: Beau Brady. Lily also has several great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and friends who loved her deeply and prayed for her daily.

Lily is preceded in death by paternal great-grandparents: Walter and Pearl Bocek, and William and Shirley Bell, who are now holding her in heaven.

Visitors will be received by the family on Wednesday, June 22, from 5 to 8 p.m., at St. Thomas of Villanova Church at Villanova University, Villanova. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 23, at 10 a.m., at the church. Interment will follow the mass at the Calvary Cemetery.

Lily was lovingly cared for by numerous medical professionals and therapists during her six months of life. In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored to have family and friends support the music therapy program at the Newborn/Infant Intensive Care Unit (N/IICU) at CHOP. The music therapy provided to Lily had an immediate and calming impact on her as was evidenced in her vital signs (decreased need for oxygen, relaxed respiratory rate, and lower resting heart rate). Knowing that Lily loved listening to music, we are hoping to continue the gift of music therapy for N/IICU babies and their families. Contributions to Lily Bell’s Lullabies will be accepted at GoFundMe: gofundme.com/LilyBellsLullabies.

Online condolences may be offered at stretchfuneralhome.com. Stretch Funeral Home, Havertown, assisted Lily’s family with the arrangements.
