Lewis D. Potts, 77, Navy vet, father of five, Curtis Welding and Fabrication retiree, animal lover

Lewis D. “Lew” Potts, 77, of Manheim passed away at home on Monday, Dec. 26, 2016.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late John and Catherine Umble Potts. He was the husband of the late Rose Marie Lechner Potts who died in 2002.

Lew retired from Curtis Welding and Fabrication, Lititz; and previously worked for many years at the former Evcore, Lancaster. He proudly served in the United States Navy, aboard the Battleship USS Wisconsin; and was a member of Elstonville Sportsmen Association, Manheim. He enjoyed deep sea fishing and animals. Lew loved to spend time with his family.

Surviving are five children: David Potts; Jeffrey Potts; Ronald, husband of Trisha Potts; Gary, husband of Nancy Potts; and Ginny L. MacLaren; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother: John, husband of Shirley Potts; and two sisters: Catherine Henry and Mabel Miller.

He was preceded in death by a grandson: Mason; and a brother: Raymond Potts.

Services were held Dec. 31 at Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, Manheim.
