Lester L. Brumbach, 83, Army vet, worked at Fenner Drives, enjoyed grilling and woodworking

Lester L. “Pappy” Brumbach, 83, of Lancaster, and formerly of Manheim, died peacefully at home on Monday, March 4, 2019.

Born in Elizabeth Township, he was the son of the late Hiram S. and Elizabeth Shealer Brumbach. Lester was the loving husband of Shirley A. Nauman Brumbach, and they observed their 57th wedding anniversary in October of last year.

For over 48 years Lester worked faithfully at Fenner Drives, Manheim. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Army. Lester was an active member of Chiques United Methodist Church, where he served as head usher and money counter. He enjoyed woodworking throughout the years and had a real passion for cooking on the grill. Lester cherished the time that he spent with his family and was devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He faithfully attended sporting and school events of his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Surviving in addition to his wife: Shirley; is a son: Marc A. Brumbach of Cumming, Ga.; a daughter: Marcia A., wife of Jeff Fuhrman of Mount Joy; three grandchildren: D.J. Fuhrman, Rachel Fuhrman, Emily Fuhrman; and two sisters: Verna Munden of Ephrata, and Miriam Spotts of Lititz.

Preceding him in death are six brothers; and seven sisters.

Services were held March 11 at Chiques United Methodist Church, Mount Joy. Interment was in East Fairview Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Rapho Township.
