Lawrence E. Cummings, 98, U.S. Army veteran, retired truck driver, survived by two daughters

Lawrence E. Cummings, 98, formerly of Lititz, passed away in Ephrata Manor on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018.

He was born in Kennett Square on Nov. 25, 1919, a son of the late Edward and Anna Cummings.

Mr. Cummings was a retired truck driver. He served his country in the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his daughters: Judith Ann Shockless of Williamsport; and Candace Lee, wife of Jeff Peifer, Lititz; seven grandchildren: Travis, husband of Deb Shrey; Brett Shockloss; Jeremy, husband of Tara Peifer; Mandy, wife of Chad Reed; Jamie, husband of Kristin Peifer; Nathan Hodoba; and Hannah Hodoba; seven great-grandchildren: Gillian; Hunter; Justin; Hollis; Stella; Hadley, and Brogan.

A memorial service will be held in the Ephrata Community Church, 70 Clay School Road, Ephrata, on Friday, Aug. 17, at 11 a.m.
