Kay A. Kuch, Warwick Class of ‘56, LGH retiree, Lititz El cafeteria worker

By on June 3, 2015

Kay Audrey (Dodson) Kuch of Lititz peacefully passed on to her home in heaven May 30, 2015 at the beckon call of God, who saw fit to take her into his loving arms.

Born to the late Robert and Catherine Hammacher Dodson on Jan. 18, 1939 in Dauphin County, she graduated from Warwick High School in 1956 and lived most of her life in Lititz.

The devoted wife of Arthur C. Kuch for nearly 45 years, she leaves behind three sons: Brett (fiancée Lynn Bare) Johnson, Ephrata; Brian (Dena) Johnson, Lititz; and Bradley (Wendy) Kuch, Pittsburgh; two brothers: Robert (Bobbi Ann), Ephrata; and Donald (Janet) Dodson, Brownstown; eight grandchildren: Chassidy (Christian) Ritter, Courtney (Daniel) Lentz, Carrie Johnson, Derek (Jennifer) Johnson, Dane Johnson, Chelsea Johnson, Collin Kuch, and Brayden Kuch; and four great grandchildren, Taylor Lentz, Aiden Lentz, Mackenzie Lentz, and Hanna Johnson.

Her life joy and passions were vacationing at Ocean City, Disney World, and the Outer Banks, N.C., with her kids and grandchildren.

Kay retired from Lancaster General Hospital, where she was known by people as cheerful and always willing to help or just listen and many kept in touch following her retirement. After retirement, she worked in the Lititz Elementary cafeteria, helping the children with their lunches.

During her five-year battle with cancer, the children were a wonderful support system for her, giving her cards on the holidays, providing well wishes, and letting her know how much they missed her. She would often bring these cards home to read each one, as every child was very special to her.

Kay’s children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her shining passion in life. She rarely missed any of their sporting or school activities. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Services were held June 2 at Richard H. Heisey Funeral Home, Lititz, with interment in Lititz Moravian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kay may be made to Hospice and Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
