Karen M. Schaeffer, 76, Warwick grad, mother of two, worked for Eastern Airlines, Carolina Opry

Karen M. Schaeffer, 76, of Little River, S.C., died on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at Grant Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach.

Born on Oct. 12, 1940, in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Dorothy Adams Klopp and the late James Klopp.

Karen graduated from Warwick High School in 1958. She was a majorette from grades one through 12. She spent most of her youth in Rothsville.

After graduation, she worked for many years at the counter of Eastern Airlines in Washington, D.C. In her later years, she worked in the gift shop of the Carolina Opry.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by two children: Jeff Darragh and Wendy Schaeffer; one brother: James Klopp (Rosa); one sister: Joan Clair; two grandchildren: Anthony Darragh and Kyle Darragh; and one great-grandson: Gabriel.

In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her husband: William H. Schaeffer.

A memorial service was held Oct. 18 at Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Little River.
