Julia C. Pohl, 96, born to missionaries in India, was teacher in Manheim

Julia C. Pohl, 96, of Luther Acres, Lititz, died Tuesday, Dec. 16 at The Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center, Lititz.

Julia was the daughter of the late Edith Shoop Coleman and the late Reverend Fred L. Coleman, missionaries to India. She was born Sept. 4, 1918, in Rajahmundry, India.

She graduated from Wilson College, Chambersburg, and taught school in Manheim, and Naugatuck, Conn.

She was married to William R. Pohl Jr. who died in October 2000. Surviving are four children: William C. Pohl of Castle Hayne, N.C.; Mary L. Tracy of Standish, Maine; Susan J. Pohl of Boise, Idaho; Robert F. Pohl of Belo Horizonte, Brazil; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service Saturday, Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. in the Community Room at Luther Acres, 250 St. Luke Drive, Lititz. Rev. Dr. Martha Sheaffer will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Caring Fund, LutherCare, 600 E. Main St., Lititz, PA 17543.
