Joseph P. Lodish, 86, Warner Lambert retiree, WWII vet, enjoyed cooking, woodworking

Joseph P. Lodish, 86, of Lititz, passed away at Hospice and Community Care Jan. 4, 2015.

Born in Tower City, he was the son of the late Anthony and Anna Sherack Lodish. A loving and caring husband, Joe shared 64 years of marriage with his wife Diane Underkoffler Lodish.

He was a graduate of Porter Township High School and he served in the U.S. Air Force and was a World War II veteran. He retired in 1990 from Warner Lambert in Lititz, where he worked for 33 years.

Joe loved to cook and those who knew him called him “a good cooker.” He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family. The time he spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was time he greatly cherished.

Joe will be lovingly missed by his wife and children: Kerry Lodish Sr., husband of Kathy, Lititz; Jodi Kreider, wife of Karl, Lancaster; Bradley Lodish, husband of Nancy, Del.; grandchildren: Michele Beatty, Heidi Gesicki, Kerry Lodish Jr., Kelly Price, Nicole Lopez, Justin Lodish, Samantha Weaver, Ronnie Weaver; great-grandchildren: Dallas, Dillan and Dakota Rhinier; Aliyah, Sophia, and Isabella Gesicki; Austin, Alyssa, Sierra and Tanner Lodish; Leland, Layken and Lawson Price; a brother: John Lodish, husband of Marlene, Tower City; and sisters: Mary Jacoby, Nev.; Helen Richards, Fla.; Kathleen Reed, Tower City; Correen Daub, Tower City; and Carol Reiner, Va.

He is preceded in death by his siblings: Walter Lodish, George Lodish, Josephine Saylor, Stella Lodish, Julie Bozar and Peggy Lodish.

Family and friends are invited to the Richard H. Heisey Funeral Home, 216 S. Broad St., Lititz, on Friday, Jan. 9 to celebrate Joe’s life and visit with his family from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
