John G. ‘Jack’ Didyoung, 65, worked at HDI Railing Systems, enjoyed golfing, creating art, was very friendly

The spirit and soul of John G. “Jack” Didyoung, 65, of Lititz, passed away unexpectedly at Hershey Medical Center on Saturday, May 6, 2017, where he was surrounded by his family.

The most important thing in Jack’s life was his family. He will be remembered for his friendliness and fun loving personality. Anyone that met Jack for the first time or knew him, felt a special bond to him.

Born in West Reading, he was the husband of Julie A. Valentine Didyoung, and they would be celebrating 30 years of marriage on June 20. He is survived by his parents: John A. and Adelaide L. Youse Didyoung of Temple; and his loving daughter: Samantha L. Didyoung.

Jack retired from HDI Railing Systems, Mountville. He worked within the material handling industry and held various positions in sales, installation systems, and design. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, the Dallas Cowboys, and the New York Yankees. Both Jack and Samantha shared their artistic gifts in creating art together.

In addition to his wife, daughter, and parents, he is survived by his mother-in-law: Jackie Valentine, Lititz; two brothers: Fred J., husband of Liz Didyoung, Conestoga; and Greg J. Didyoung of Temple.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Jack’s Life at The Groffs Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 528 W. Orange St., Lancaster, on Saturday, May 13, at noon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. The interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Penn State Hershey Medical Center, 500 University Drive, Hershey, PA 17033, or a charity of one’s choice.
