John B. Kline, 92, Warwick grad, author, farmer, pioneer in soil conservation practices

John B. Kline, 92, of Manheim, formerly of Snyder Hill Road, Lititz, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Pleasant View Nursing Home.

John graduated from Warwick High School in 1941 and worked as a farmer, electrician, and author. He was a pioneer in soil conservation practices and author of numerous books on rural life of the Pennsylvania Dutch. John was considered by many to be a historical textbook of knowledge.

He is survived by one brother: Paul B. Kline, husband of Mae, of Lititz; two nieces: Nancy, wife of Wade Hall, of Ephrata; and Carol, wife of Kenneth Weaver, of Lititz; two nephews: Ronald Kline, husband of Florence, of Lititz; and Jeffrey Kline, husband of Alvina, of Lititz; and nine great-nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents: Ezra Samuel and Ada Mabel (Bowman) Kline.

Services were held April 15 at Hoffer Auditorium at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim. Interment followed at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Brickerville.
