Joanne Sue ‘Susie’ Mummert, 63, attended Lancaster Alliance Church, enjoyed reading, cross stitch

Joanne Sue “Susie” Mummert, 63, of Lancaster, passed peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Joanne grew up in the Brickerville area, and was a former resident of Red Rose Manor and Conestoga View, Lancaster.

She was the daughter of the late John A. and Mildred Z. Mummert.

Her hobbies included reading, cross stitch, and crocheting. She enjoyed her time spent with her family, her special Compeer friend, Leeanne; and her Lancaster Alliance Church family and attending church activities.

She will be greatly missed by her twin brother: John C. Mummert, Lancaster; and her sister: Marleen R. Foreman, wife of Craig, Manheim; her friend: Leeanne, Lititz; and her aunt: Mae Wingenroth, Lititz; her cousins: Joyce Wingenroth and Judy Morrison, Lititz; and several other cousins.

Joanne overcame many challenges in her life and her family is very thankful and appreciative of friends, relatives and caregivers for showing care and compassion to Joanne during her life-long valiant battle with mental illness.

Interment will be at the family’s convenience, in St. John’s Cemetery, Brickerville. A memorial service for Joanne will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, at the Lancaster Alliance Church, 210 Pitney Road, Lancaster.
