Joann (Gross) Eckman, 63, emergency room clerk at LGH, enjoyed cooking and baking

Joann (Gross) Eckman, 63, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Saturday, Sept. 30.

A lifelong resident of Lancaster County, she most recently lived in Ephrata, but also resided in Lancaster and Lititz during her life.

Joann was born on Feb. 1, 1954, to the late Charles H. Gross and Gladys K. (Frey) Gross.

She was a graduate of McCaskey High School, Class of 1972. She worked at many places, but most prevalent was at Lancaster General Hospital as emergency room unit clerk. She enjoyed cooking and baking.

Joann is survived by two sons: Chad E. (and wife, Kelly) Eckman of Frankford, Del.; Jonathon D. (and wife, Nicole) Eckman of Ephrata: four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister: Judy Ann Althouse.

In addition to both parents, she was proceeded in death by her twin sister: Luann Gross: two brothers: Charles (Skip) Gross and Robert (Bobby) Gross.

A celebration of Joann’s life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 1 p.m., at West Willow United Methodist Church 118 W. Willow Road, Willow Street. Interment with be private at the request of family.
