Jesse R. Erway, 80, Lititz, Army vet, taught vocational agriculture at MCHS

Jesse R. Erway, 80, Lititz, entered into life eternal Dec. 16 at Lancashire Hall after a long illness.

Born in Wellsboro, Tioga County, he was the youngest son of Charles F. and Mildred Seely Lent Erway.

A graduate of Penn State University with a master’s degree in Education, he taught vocational agriculture at East Juniata High School and Manheim Central High School. He enjoyed a second career as a real estate agent. He owned and ran his own agricultural business for a number of years. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Trinity E.C. Survivors include his wife of 57 years: Patricia Leister Erway; three daughters: Lynn Fortney (Michael), Leigh Romascavage (Michael), and Kim Glisson (Jeffrey), all of Lititz; six grandchildren: (Jennifer Beckett (Josiah), Brandie Fortney, Christopher Romascavage, Caitlin Romascavage and fiancé Alex Southard, Joshua Glisson and Elizabeth Glisson); and two great-grandchildren: Lain Beckett and Mackenzie Jeffries. Also surviving are two brothers: Charles, Lantana, Fla.; and Robert, Lawrenceville; and a sister: Margaret Howard, Winston Salem, N.C..

He was predeceased by brothers: Francis, Lyle, Gerald, Harry, and John; and a sister: Mildred Jean Miller.

The family held a time of visitation on Dec. 20. Arrangements were entrusted to Spacht Funeral Home, Lititz.
