Jay R. Hossler, 71, Armstrong World Industries retiree, had a contagious laugh, loved the beach

Jay R. Hossler, 71, of Manheim, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at Lancaster Regional Medical Center.

Born in Manheim, he was the son of the late Harry and Lillie Stoner Hossler. He was the loving husband of Gladys Houck Hossler, and celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary in August.

Jay retired from Armstrong World Industries, Lancaster; and following retirement, he worked for Stauffers of Kissel Hill, Oregon Pike, Lancaster. Jay had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious laugh that everyone enjoyed. He loved going to the beach and spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children: Vicki Hampton, companion of Kerry Beck, of Manheim; Jay R. Jr., husband of Elizabeth Boyer Hossler, of Hanover; two grandchildren: Gregory Scott Hampton II, companion of Melissa Schnaithmann; Abigail Grace Hossler; a great-grandson: Gregory “Scott” Hampton III; and two sisters: Ruth Baker; and Helen, wife of Carl Moyer, both of Manheim.

He was preceded in death by a sister: Darlene Ziegler; and two brothers: Martin and Harry Hossler Jr.

Services were held Jan. 13 at Buch Funeral Home, Manheim. Interment was in East Fairview Brethren Cemetery, Rapho Township.
