Jane E. ‘Tick’ Bortner, 72, worked at Tyco, collected animal figurines, Lawn Fire Company member

Jane E. “Tick” Bortner, 72, of Manheim passed away peacefully at home Thursday, July 23, 2015.

Born in Gettysburg, she was the daughter of the late Glen L. and Pearl A. Wilson Emlet. She was the loving wife of Mervin D. Bortner Jr., and they would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in August.

Retired in 2008, Jane worked for more than 30 years at the former Tyco in Lancaster and Mount Joy. She was a member of Lawn Evangelical Congregational Church and the Lawn Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Jane enjoyed collecting animal figurines, and she loved to spend time with her family.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a son: Mervin D. III, husband of Priscilla Bortner, of Troy; two daughters: Laura, wife of Bruce Weaber, of Lebanon; and Glenda Pearl Jones, wife of Gus Hince, of Columbia; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother: Rodney E., husband of Barbie Emlet, of Wrightsville.

Services were held July 28 at Lawn Evangelical Congregational Church. Interment was in in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York.
